We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building strong working relationships with finance and business stakeholders. The successful candidate must be innovative in their approach in order to implement the new investment system and new Financial instruments accounting standard to manage the increase in complexity and ongoing changes in the accounting process. They will enhance the efficiency of the existing team and effectively fulfil the organisations investment reporting obligations .

Work as part of a dedicated and high performing team, the responsibilities of this role may include but are not limited to:
  • Understanding of and involvement in current investment reporting process,
  • Working with Group IT, Group accounting centre, external custodian bank and fund managers to implement the new investment accounting system,
  • Set up workflows in the new investment accounting system to correctly book all the securities in the investment portfolio under IFRS 9 & IAS 39,
  • Set up reports in the new investment system to meet reporting requirements based on IFRS 9 & IAS 39, Group accounting guidelines, Solvency II and local regulatory reporting requirements,
  • Set up monthly business process for internal investment accounting function,
  • Responsible for UATs
  • Maintaining integrity of the new investment system
  • Month-end reconciliation procedures
  • Month-end investment reporting to internal business units, Group and local regulators.
  • Ensuring sufficient relevant documentation is provided for audit purposes.
  • Ensure all procedures are kept up-to-date

The key skills & experience desired for this position are as follows:-
  • At least 4 years' experience in investment accounting
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Exceptional time management and prioritising skills, strong ability to meet tight and competing deadlines
  • A positive, proactive and resilient attitude to embrace change and innovation in our fast changing environment
  • Knowledge on AASB 139, AASB 9 is essential
  • Knowledge on SAP Financial Asset Management function is preferable
