A management accountant role based in Manchester, encompassing the usual responsibilities of a management accountant and the management of a team 3. The role provides great progression as the business grows.

Client Details

An established Manchester based SME manufacturing business, looking to expand their operations.

Description

• Reporting to the Finance director

• All aspect in the production of the Management Accounts, must meeting tight deadlines

• Prepayments, Accruals & reconciling accounts of all types, including Petty Cash

• Risk management & Credit Control - Updating & applying credit control policy, as well as using reports to assess companies for credit worthiness for potential deals, also assessing ongoing credit limits for existing customers

• Liaising with all levels of the business

• Sales/Purchase/Nominal ledger journal postings

• Involved with monthly payroll

• Processing commissions for Export agents using pivot table

• Raising payments & general banking including cheques & allocation

• Reporting to external organisations, such as HMRC, NSO

• Involved with the annual audit

• Supporting FD in any duties as needed

• Internet 247 & Credit Cards - Including monitoring, posting & refunds

• London Showroom - Posting invoices & monitoring monthly figures versus EoD receipts & head office stats

• Managing ad hoc aspects of accounts department.

• Able to think both in terms of the finance team, and the overall commercial picture

• Broad Minded

• Good Numerical Skills - Including strong excel use

• Action Oriented & Problem Solving approach - Willing to carry tasks to get the job done

• Good interpersonal skills - Role includes interaction with key staff who may have a differing view on how to proceed

• Adaptability - Thinks on their feet & changes to meet the needs of the business as it grows

• Must be IT Literate, and used excel, word etc to a high level

• Systems Orientated

• Experience dealing with European banks a plus
