Our Commercial Lines Finance department is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our growing team in our Worcester, MA office.

Working in a business–interfacing finance role, providing financial analysis and consultative support to the Field Leadership team at The Hanover. Researches variances and identifies emerging trends with the business and present findings.This is a Full–time, Exempt role.

Responsibilities:

* Monthly Reporting – Coordinate monthly bookclose process and financial reporting requirements. Act as liaison with Zone Financial Officers and Field Leadership.
* Analysis & Interpretation – Analyze financial information to understand trends and variance drivers within each business and impact to overall branch results.
* Presentations – Able to pull together financial information and summarize in a concise manner to report to senior management
* Planning & Forecasting – Coordinate and support annual financial planning cycle with business partners and Segment Financial Officers.
* Support adhoc requests from senior management.
* Makes recommendations to management regarding process improvements, data analytics and reporting capabilities.

Requirements:

* 1–3 years of related experience in finance/accounting positions
* Prior financial reporting and planning experience preferred
* Possesses and applies knowledge of financial analysis principles and practices
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Able to handle competing priorities simultaneously
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint) required
* Oracle Hyperion/IBM Cognos / Essbase experience strongly preferred
* P&C insurance experience not required, but preferred.
