As Finance Business Partner you will work towards strategic objectives and help to make operational decisions. You will work collaboratively with the other Finance Business Partners and your own partnered departments to provide timely analysis and commercial input.

Client Details

The Financial Ombudsman Service bridges the gap between Financial Businesses and the Government. Originally set up by Parliament in 2000, the organisation looks at complaints between financial businesses and their customers. The finance team is comprised of a real variety of backgrounds and they are looking for an individual to join their team who is equally as passionate about what they do as they are.

Description

As Finance Business Partner you will involve advising and supporting, as well as the following:

  • Accurate budgeting, forecasting and reporting on income and expenditure
  • Providing relevant, timely analysis for all costs, including the people, equipment, legal and property - as well as analysing internal and external costs
  • Helping to improve financial awareness across the organisation by building relationships and engaging key stakeholders in the process
  • Developing a deep understanding of the work of the other financial business partners, as well as the senior finance team and the systems and reporting team
  • Identifying where they can be more efficient in the finance team and in the wider organisation
  • Developing robust controls around project accounting and making sure that the International Financial Reporting Standards are adhered to
  • Ad hoc project work where required
  • Creating persuasive financial presentations based on robust analysis

Profile

The client is looking for a newly qualified accountant who is confident, personable, proactive and ambitious. You must also have:

  • Proven experience in a role where excellent stakeholder relationships are critical as well as deep rooted accounting knowledge
  • The ability to drive decision-making and introduce change while consulting stakeholders
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel and financial/scenario modelling skills
  • Superb communication skills to deliver presentations backed with sound reasoning
  • The ability to adapt your style for your audience and accurately reflect different stakeholder styles
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • A problem-solving attitude and the ability to prioritise effectively
