Job Summary:
Purpose of Role:
Responsibility for tracking fixed assets for the purpose of depreciation and tracking the whereabouts, quantity and condition of the fixed assets, in accordance with the company policy and accounting standards, also for insurance purpose. To control procedures and closing stock of all items held on the Balance Sheet. To act as support to the various functions of the finance department & the operation. To support the Head of Finance and Senior accountant in various business activities. To provide Accurate management information.
1. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1.1 Primary responsibility to maintain the companies fixed asset register (here and abroad) and to ensurethat policies are follow in regards to procuring, safeguarding and disposing of the assets in a timelymanner.
1.2 Physical check of all assets (bi-annually for operating equipment and annually for FFE plant andequipment).
1.3 Ensuring all asset invoices are recorded in a timely manner and depreciation is effected as per IFRS’s
1.4 Petty Cash Custodian at Head Office (claim preparation, payment and booking (incl. GL coding))
1.5 Timly processing of expense claims ensuring accurate allocation to appropriate cost centres.
1.6 To assist with the Balance Sheet reconciliation in order to promote audit assurance
1.7 Active involvment in month end closing preparation and review or P&L.
1.8 To correct any discrepancy in working practices as soon as these are revealed and to timely
communicate any issues if and when they arise.
1.9 Initiate ways to enhance current processes.
1.10 To provide Accurate, Complete, Concise, User Friendly, Relevant, Timely and Easy to Use Managementand Financial accounting information to various business stakeholders
1.11 Any other duties assigned by the management of the finance department.
