Financial Accountant

This is an exciting opportunity for an ACCA studier to join a growing business in central Bristol as a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis

Description

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for;

• Team management of 2 accountants 3 assistants and an accounts administrator, operating on a large client managing 11 funds of varying sizes with different Investment strategies

• Clearing client funds in required timescale and ensuring all procedural obligations are met

• Liaising with central departments to ensure the processes and procedures are met for that client

• Ensuring income is accurately accounted for and in correct financial period. Ensure all approval procedures are met

• Prepare periodic financial reports for specified periods in predetermined agreed format. Nav-statements and financial statements are required monthly and quarterly. These are to be forwarded to the Client or their agent within the timescale agreed with the Client. Where the VAT return is completed by W&P ensure that the information is collated and checked by Accounts Associate

• Preparation of Accruals & Prepayments schedules on a monthly/Quarterly basis to ensure all expenditure is recognised in the correct accounting period.

• Asset Recognition and de-recognition including journal preparation

• Quarterly reports to analyse client expenditure.

• Quarterly collection analysis reports.

• Monthly funding requests.

• Quarterly VAT analysis.

• Prepare ad hoc reports.

• Liaise with Accounts Associate to ensure all accounts are reconciled and Bank Accounts closed without any undue delay.

• Checking of client reports before sending to client.

• Liaising with team and supply training as needs are identified.

Profile

The successful candidate will be studying towards ACCA and be looking to continue studying towards a professional accountancy qualification. You will also have experience in managing a team of junior finance staff

A salary of up to £35,000 + study support + bonus is on offer for the Financial Accountant role.
