Reporting into the Finance Manager, the role is pivotal to the Central Finance team within Octopus Investments , involving processing payments across the business, ensuring suppliers are paid in a timely manner and other ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager. We are looking for an experienced accounts payable assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent candidate with great attention to detail. This role sits within the purchase ledger side of the team and will require a professional and organised approach to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Timely and effective processing of invoices in the procurement system
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure approvals are completed in a timely manner
- Ensuring suppliers are paid within payment terms
- Dealing with supplier queries
- Processing recharge invoices to affiliated companies
- Creditor reconciliations
- Balance Sheet review to ensure transactions are recorded accurately
- Preparation of fx related journal entries into the accounting system (SUN systems).
- Ad-hoc requests as directed by manager
Qualifications
- Experience of Procure-to-Pay processes, including raising orders/commitments, goods/service receipting and invoice entry/authorisation.
- Demonstrable track record of improving processes and controls .
- Professional in written and verbal communication
- Responds quickly to changing work demands
- Works effectively with peers on teams and engages in giving and receiving feedback with colleagues
- Works efficiently and communicates in a professional manner.
- Manages multiple tasks and documents processes and procedures
- Works in an open and honest way
