Against this background, Zave's Melbourne office is looking to hire a tech-savvy certified Accountant and Bookkeeper with experience as a BAS filing agent. Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily accounting functions including accounts payable, payments, banking transactions, general ledger and fixed assets accounting
  • Perform reconciliation of accounts payable, inter-company and bank
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS returns and other tax compliance returns
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, end of quarter and yearly closing
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory and statutory reporting obligations
  • Prepare financial statements and financial reports
  • Prepare audit schedules and handle audit queries
  • Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures
  • Experience with payroll would be advantageous
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects when required
What we are looking for in the right candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or equivalent education
  • Registered BAS agent - recognised by the Tax Practitioners Board
  • Minimum of Certificate IV Financial Services in Bookkeeping or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of professional working experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A "Can do" attitude and willingness to solve problems and add value to clients
  • Experience using XBRL
  • Very high proficiency with MS Office, experience in XERO an advantage
  • Well established organizational, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Team player
  • Willingness to work in multicultural environment
Compensation:
  • Salary ranging between $60k - 80k depending on experience
