Finance Manager

My client is seeking a Finance Manager, or a Chief Accountant, for their small Finance team based in Bedford.

Description

The Finance Manager's responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly Management Accounts, ensuring Group's accounting policies are followed.
• Assisting with preparation of monthly Management Information pack
• Preparing quarterly VAT Returns and Control Account reconciliations.
• Assisting with preparation of Tax packs and Statutory financial statements.
• Assisting with the external annual audit process.
• Ensuring statutory returns are filed and paid on time.
• Preparation and review of Balance sheet reconciliation Pack.
• Cash management and Cashflow forecasting.
• Overseeing sales and purchase ledger.
• Manage, coach and motivate members of the finance team as the company grows.
• Support the Finance Team in developing financial awareness in all Company departments.
• Support in formulation of long term strategies
• Oversee preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts for each location.
• Monitor actual spend against budgets.
• Develop reporting as and when needed to tighten cost control.
• Promote and Develop financial awareness in all Company departments.
• Ensure Group's policies are followed and processes developed where no precedent exists.
• Develop KPIs and support Managers in achieving these.
• Preparation & presentation of monthly Management Information pack variance analysis with Budget and forecasts).
• Challenge operational teams and provide support for business cases (Operations, Sales, Delivery)
• Provide analysis and advice of sales and customer profitability
• Systems development, implementation, and country owner
• Support in formulation of long term strategies
• Ad hoc Projects
• Ensure payroll is correctly processed

Profile

The successful Finance Manager will need to have:

• A strong background in financial accounts including experience in:

• Preparing Management Accounts
• Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Financial analysis
• Team management experience

Job Offer

The salary on offer is between £30,000 and £40,000 dependent upon experience and qualification.
