Purpose of position

• This position primarily involves providing corporate action support to the Portfolio Management teams in London and Chicago for Northern Trust Asset Management.
• To be responsible for the collection, verification and processing of corporate action related entitlements in an accurate timely manner. Dealing with queries promptly and efficiently, documenting and following established procedures and processes in order to maintain efficiency, minimise risk and provide an excellent client service (whether internal or external).


The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Process issues via the Investment Management corporate action system.
• Effectively and accurately keep portfolio managers advised of all event details at all times.
• Input instructions for voluntary issues, for onward transmission to the custodians.
• Utilise custodian on line systems both for corporate action information and instructions.
• Maintain reconciliation breaks to ensure that they are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
• Actively participate in team discussions and make suggestions that lead to quality, resource and target orientated improvements.
• Follow documented procedures to ensure team compliance with industry regulation and best practice

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

• Global Corporate Actions experience essential.
• Effective client relationship skills
• Clear communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate across all levels

• Good organisational skills.
• Accuracy
• PC Literate.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to balance the demands made by a change in circumstances, with the on-going job requirements.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Take responsibility for own actions and recognises the impact on others and the business.
