Global Finance aims to provide HSBC with a professional, effective and responsive finance service that operates at optimal cost and employs a common and transparent global model.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Retail Banking and Wealth Management (RBWM) Business Finance Manager.


Principal Responsibilities:

Responsibility is to assist and provide key support to Head of RBWM Business Finance in implementing the RBWM strategy at a HSBC Bank Malaysia (HBMY) / HSBC Amanah Malaysia (HBMS) level and manage the delivery of a professional, effective, responsive and joined-up finance service at optimal cost. To serve as a business partner to drive business initiatives, growth, business strategy and profitability. Key accountabilities include

  • Business decision support;
  • Drives profitable growth by providing analyses of results while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions;
  • Analysis of segmental income by products and product margins;
  • Business commentaries;
  • Rolling Forecasting, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Budgeting;
  • Strategic planning;
  • Business case preparation and review;
  • Transfer pricing analysis and support;
  • Executive management support;
  • Participates as an active member of the country leadership team;
  • Partners with business leaders and staff to ensure finance strategy is implemented, anact as a champion on all finance activities
  • Acts as a finance liaison for all business development and acquisition, integration and divesting activities in the country;
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of the relevant change agenda and modelling change leadership in Finance in a country;
  • Support the Business in Stress testing exercises (share responsibility with Risk);
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy


Qualifications
Requirements:
  • An undergraduate or post graduate degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or possess a professional accounting qualification.
  • Subject matter expertise (SME) in management & financial reporting;
  • Understands and anticipates strategic implications from financial accounting. A high level of professional competence which helps to determine solutions around financial accounting procedures, controls, risk management and quality assurance;
  • Knowledge of system (HMI, TM1, HUB, FTP, etc) is a definite advantage;
  • Keep abreast of latest financial accounting environment and changes and anticipative of impacts to the Bank;
  • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization. Able to work directly and effectively with business partners in RBWM.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to articulate well to the business partners in RBWM
  • Strong leadership and management ability, developing and motivating employees;
  • Ability to make robust/tough decisions which may be contrary to the business wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands;
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risks & opportunities to the business, both internally and externally.
  • Flexible with the ability to juggle between routine BAU work and self-drive ad-hoc projects
