Accountant

To provide a comprehensive and effective Bookkeeping/Accounts to the company and the Managing Director. To manage the day to day Accounts operations.

Description

The Accountant position involves;

• To ensure that all financial transactions, including invoices, purchasing, expenses, cash etc are correctly processed and recorded in Sage.
• To oversee the credit control processes to ensure that debtors are pursued in an appropriate and timely manner.
• To administer the banking processes.
• To provide cash flow forecasting and assist in any cost reduction analysis in all areas of the company.
• The production of regular management accounts i.e. monthly, quarterly and annually and interpret the company's financial results to the Managing Director and recommend improvement activities.
• To assist in and to manage the preparation of the company's annual budget and report on any variances from this and the reasons for the variances.
• To manage and oversee the monthly and bi-weekly payrolls (through the Accounts Assistant).
• The production of accurate and timely administration of tax returns (VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax).
• To be responsible for the production of the annual statutory accounts.
• Meet all deadlines as set by Managing Director and within company procedures.

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Accountant role will;

• be either Part-Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/AAT), or Qualified By Experience
• have worked in a Senior Bookkeeper role, or stand alone Accounts role previously

• Understand all aspects of Sage (through experience or training) to manage bookkeeping, payroll and management accounts

• have a good sense of humour
• live locally

Job Offer

The Accountant role can pay between £30-40,000 depending on experience.
