Overview of Division/Department

Our Regional Compliance Department located in Singapore, is responsible for monitoring the offices in the Asia-Oceania region to ensure their compliance with regulations of Head Office and local authorities. This department consists of two sections, namely Regional AML Section and Assessment & Monitoring Section.

Job Responsibilities
(Internal Corporate Title: Manager)
Your key roles & responsibilities include:
  • Conducting off/on-site monitoring of overseas offices and branches to ascertain operations are within legislatorial and Head Office (HO) guidelines
  • Ensuring relevant Japanese law and HO policies related compliance matters are understood and practiced by the offices in the region (e.g. Information Control, Insider Trading Regulations, Entertainment & Gifts, Arm's Length Principle etc)
  • Performing self-assessment on local laws and regulations of each country, and consolidate such information to ensure practices are up-to-date and disseminated
  • Partnering with Compliance departments of each office to maximize effectiveness and competency of compliance policies, through methods such as training and development
  • Providing consultative advices on queries from overseas offices
  • Supporting the Regional Assessment Committee in its consideration of the best allocation of resources on Compliance Monitoring Supporting offices in the region on compliance issues that require coordination with Head Office and/or between offices in the region
  • Supervising a team on day-to-day activities


Job Requirements
What you should have:
  • A Bachelor Degree
  • At least 10 years of work experience preferred, particularly within the banking industry or field of compliance.
  • Basic-level proficiency in Japanese will be an advantage, as the incumbent is expected to engage in simple communication with colleagues in Head Office
  • Team leadership/management exposure is highly desired
  • Travelling will be required on a need basis
