JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE : CREDIT SUPERVISOR (Tobago Branch) REPORTS TO : Branch Manager SUPERVISES : Credit Officers and Loans Co-ordinator RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. The maintenance of an efficient standard of service and to perform all tasks in keeping with our motto of “Leading the Way”. 2. To supervise the operations of the Loans Department. 3. To appraise members of the Loan Policy of the Credit Union and to present the Credit Union as a caring and responsible organization. 4. To implement the Loan Policy of the Credit Union in considering and approving loan applications by members. 5. To ensure through the application of established systems and procedures as defined in the various manuals of the Union that all records are maintained accurately and promptly. 6. To provide support to the Branch Manager so as to enable him/her to be always conversant in all matters relating to the department. DUTIES: 1. Possess a thorough knowledge of all relevant systems and procedures. 2. Review and approve loans. 3. Supervisor Loan Officers and Loan Co-ordinators 4. Verify and sign cheques. 5. Prepare Annual Budget 6. Refer loans requiring higher authority for approval. 7. Review and manage past due loans within the department. 8. Hold regular meetings with loans' staff to ensure the attainment of targets and objectives. 9. Hold Keys/combination numbers of all relevant locks/safety drawers. 10. Attend to queries on member's accounts, management reports and loans operations situations. 11. Ensure an efficient loan securities maintenance systems. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: 1. Should possess a secondary Education, at least 5 CXC or GCE O' levels including English and Principles of Accounts or Mathematics. 2. Should have one to three years' experience working in a similar position in a Credit Union or other financial institution. 3. Should have at least one year's experience in a computerized environment. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: 1. Must be able to work for long hours whether sitting or standing. 2. Must have a pleasant personality and the ability to get along well with people. 3. Should have legible handwriting. 4. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. 5. Should be able to assess a situation and make decisions and act on own initiatives.
