Assistant Accountant

Page Personnel are working in partnership with a rapidly growing business services organisation based in Wirral to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join the team.

Due to growth, the accountancy function has doubled in size and has created a new opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join in what will be a varied, challenging role with scope for progression. This business has been through a number of exciting changes recently, moving into new areas to increase revenue streams and help allow the business to continue its successful growth.

Description

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will provide support across the whole business including financial reporting, control and debt management. Key duties will include:

• Preparation of month end journals as well as preparing balance sheet reconciliations including maintaining fixed asset register, accruals and prepayment schedules
• Preparation of cash flow forecasts
• Preparation of VAT returns
• Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations
• Supervising the purchase ledger clerk, reviewing and processing expenses
• Supplier payments runs
• Debtor management and raising sales ledger invoices
• Improving processes and assisting in the implementation of new systems
• Assisting in year end preparation and procedures

Profile

The required skills and experience for this role are:

• AAT/CIMA/ACCA studier
• Similar experience working in a varied role with understanding of the nominal ledgers as well as month end exposure
• Strong organisational skills and able to manage own workload
• Strong IT literacy and intermediate Excel skills
• Good communication skills
• Keen to progress
