Operations Consultant will be responsible for leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives and projects in areas such as: trade settlements, collateral management, regulatory reporting, SWIFT messaging. When necessary, this position provides production support by analyzing and troubleshooting production issues and assisting in the day to day operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and/or support operational business process improvements and initiatives related to functional business units.
- Develop and define requirements, solution design, testing and training, support throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Ensure all department staff are engaged throughout the process and prepared for the deployment.
- Leading and/or supporting testing activities, related to new projects or any initiatives.
- Lead team meetings, address issues and drive the team to complete activities timely.
- Address and/or escalate when needed any issues which prevent the team from moving forward with the project.
- Provide training & overviews to support upcoming changes, to ensure all impacted staff are aware and prepared.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Solid understanding of all security types, the investment management industry & financial markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in financial services/securities processing.
- Project management and/or business analysis experience welcome.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
- Working knowledge of back-office investment operations systems.
- Experience in regulatory reporting (MiFID, EMIR, ASIC) and SWIFT messaging would be considered a plus.
