Description

Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Accountancy team in Godalming

  • Processing purchase invoices. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all purchase invoices areAdhocrately recorded on the Company's accountianalyzingre and appropriately matched off against the supporting purchase order.

  • Monthly review of outstanding purchase orders. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for reviewing outstanding purchase orders at the end of each month to ensure that purchase invoices have been appropriately matched off against the correct purchase order.
  • Reconciliation of purchases recorded on the Company's accounting software to supplier statements. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the purchase ledger is complete and accurate by reconciling outstanding purchase invoices to supplier statements.
  • Preparation, analysis and recording off staff expenses. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for preparing, analyzing and recording both cash and credit card staff expenses. Ensuring that expenses are claimed in line with the Company's expense policy and appropriately submitted on the Company's expense system. To take ownership of the expenses software.
  • Raising sales invoices. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for raising sales invoices and ensuring these are allocated to the correct department. Ensuring that the debtor days workbook is updated in a timely fashion and reconciled to the Company's accounting software.
  • Job costing. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all purchase and sales invoices are recorded on the job costing workbook and reconciled to the Company's accounting software.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Assist with the running of daily, weekly and monthly management reports.
  • Provide support in the resolution of any finance queries.
  • Adhoc duties as and when required.

Profile

  • A minimum of one year experience of working in a Finance department.

  • Intent to start accounting career (either AAT or CIMA/ACCA).

  • Experience of Finance processes and packages
  • Good organisational skills and ability to plan own work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong I.T Skills (MS Office, Google Sheets, Sage).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to support and influence staff, customers and suppliers' accounts teams.
  • Able to respond effectively to changing priorities.

Job Offer

Salary £23,000 - £25,000
