POSITION SUMMARY




Supervise the day-to-day operational processes and core deliverables within the Unlisted Investments Team. Understand and assist in the overall coordination of the risk administration, resource planning, and staff development required for the effective operation of the team. Provide assistance to the Account Manager in the management of the team, and to ensure that client service is central to its workings.





MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES








Client Service






  • Proactive customer focus at all times


  • Respond promptly to client concerns, needs and requests, and participate in the resolution of problems as required


  • Ensure all agreed client deliverables and standards are met


  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables


  • Assist in the review of client deliverables; identify and initiate operational efficiencies




Staff Supervision






  • Effectively supervise staff and support the Account Manager in the management of the group, to include resourcing, retention and the recruitment process


  • Assist the Account Manager in the completion of the Performance and Planning Review (PPR) for process for the group, including the setting of goals and objectives and individual development plans


  • Provide ongoing guidance, coaching/counselling and feedback to staff in a timely and effective manner


  • Support an environment which motivates and rewards staff


  • Ensure support in facilitating and identifying training requirements, encourage skills and knowledge sharing


  • Ensure effective delegation - monitor and ensure completion of delegated tasks





Risk and Compliance






  • Ensure full understanding, adherence and implementation of the corporate Risk Policy and Standard Operating Procedures


  • Ensure all information in operational databases is accurate and current at all times, including fund specific procedures


  • Demonstrate initiative in reviewing current operating procedures to eliminate duplication of effort, identify potential risk areas and implement best practice recommendations


  • Supervise the information prepared by the team and ensure adequate audit controls


  • Preparation and review of Risk Packages in accordance with agreed format


  • Assist the Account Manager in actioning internal / external audit findings in a timely manner





Budget / Expense and Control






  • Assist the Account Manager in effectively controlling the costs of the team, such as overtime, cab-charge and meal allowance, as well as claims


  • Preparation of billing data to ensure accurate billings





Supporting Change






  • Demonstrate a willingness to support change / initiatives within Local Shared Services and other SSAL areas


  • Demonstrate ability to take on tasks without instruction


  • Awareness of and active support of current and future technologies


  • Participation in relevant projects






EDUCATION and SKILLS






  • Undergraduate degree and/or formal qualifications in a relevant business stream, not required but preferable


  • Relevant experience in financial services and demonstrated market knowledge


  • Strong understanding of Derivatives, Unlisted Unit Trusts and Fixed Income Products


  • Exposure to unit pricing, distributions & reconciliation


  • A Sound understanding of Superannuation & the regulatory requirements we be an advantage


  • Experience in operational and staff supervision
