Division Overview - Shared Services




The Shared Services department consists of Regional Centers of Excellence (COE) for Derivatives and Security Valuation as well as an Unlisted Unit Trust and Unit Registry Teams. The COE's are specialist teams that provide an end to end service of the function to client portfolios on our core platforms. These COE teams form part of global COE's which have been established to create efficiencies and provide enhanced service by building high levels of expertise and leveraging global technology. In these teams there are interaction with the global sites as well as Asia Pac sites including Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and HangZhou. Services are provided to both fund accounting and Middle Office clients so there is exposure to different technology and recordkeeping platforms. For fund accounting related activity there is limited client interaction, for IMS activity there is external interaction with clients, investment managers and brokers.

Shared Services is a dynamic environment due to the number of different services provided as well as the different teams and sites the departments interacts with. It is a continuously growing team that requires team members to display strong teamwork, initiative, and excellent client service and communication skills.





Purpose




As an Implementations Team Manager you will be expected to demonstrate Business Analyst as well as a Project Manager skills supporting the BAU teams in the Onboarding of new clients, System enhancements, New system review and rollout and various initiatives to support Footprint Optimisation and STP.

The expectation is that you understand and have experience in a range of financial products in this market and how they are created, marketed, transacted and risk managed.

Client Management:



  • Maintaining strong client relationships with existing clients internal and external, establishing strong client relationships with new clients and facilitating actions to improve service quality. Management and co-ordination of multiple internal business units in relation to Client changes and issues.Participating in actioning results of client surveys to ensure overall client service excellence. Engaging with client relationship managers on new process implementation, issue resolution and change management.

Risk and Compliance:



  • Assessing and monitoring operational risk as well as identifying and applying actions where appropriate to address any risk concerns. Ensuring full adherence and implementation of the corporate Risk Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. Analysis of management reporting - including key performance and risk indicators.

Employee Engagement:



  • Creating an environment that motivates rewards and supports employees. Effectively communicating team strategies and core objectives and engaging employees in driving excellence. Actively involved in talent development including development plans, training, performance management, performance reviews and succession planning. Conducting 1on1s, management meetings and fostering a high morale working environment for employees.





Core Responsibilities






  • Work with new Clients through Due Diligence and On Boarding to understand full Derivative product scope, reporting requirements and system integration.


  • Work with Client Teams to understand new business for existing clients and Derivative product launch.


  • Provide expertise and experience to client/product onboarding projects where advanced analytics techniques are to be used, or could be used, as part of building an analytics driven business.


  • Work with the BAU teams to ensure smooth transition and capture of procedures.


  • Monitor and manage controls to minimise risk exposure


  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with team members and peers to gain efficiencies


  • Create Derivative implementation plans and procedures for provision of supporting and training staff with introduction of new products to the team





Opportunities






  • You will have the opportunity to work on complex financial instruments and work creatively to work out how to adopt and or upgrade our current platforms to perform Valuations in addition to evolving the overall downstream teams..

SKILLS \ EXPERIENCE - including work characteristics

To successfully perform these functions, you will need to be well organised with a great eye for detail. Many of these functions are performed with little notice, so the ability to operate effectively under stressful situations while meeting very tight deadlines is essential.



  • Work experience of at least five years within banking and financial operations environment


  • Experience with OTC and Structured Products necessary with Unlisted Unit Trusts, Limited Partnerships and Term Loans a bonus.


  • Previous experience in Fund Valuations. Knowledge of fund accounting operations and MCH regarded highly


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products generally


  • Ability to organise and prioritise duties with a strong attention to detail and understanding of risk


  • Excellent communication skills, with a focus on client service


  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills required


  • Solid understanding of operational risk and client documentation


  • Ability to work well under pressure


  • Flexible approach to work hours
