Product Tax Advisor

Duties: •Responsibility for new product launch tax work and ongoing tax oversight for the following fund ranges; •Luxembourg SICAVs •Irish Funds incl. Institutional Cash Funds •Investment Trusts •UK AUTs •Responsibility for overseeing the European Tax Reporting services that are provided by our external advisor •Responsibility for providing tax advice to the Fund Board Governance teams for the Directors of the Fund and Man Co boards •Providing real time advice to stakeholders •Achieve an appropriate balance between assisting investors' understanding of the relevant tax issues, and providing tax advice that should more properly be provided by an investor's own tax advisers and foster that balance in the business teams. •Support product development teams in evaluating and developing new products with insightful and practical tax input. •Provide technical content for tax related client publications, newsletters, factsheets, prospectuses and similar. Required: •Indicative 5-6 years' experience within fund management tax •Detailed understanding of European pooled fund structures used within mainstream funds •An understanding of European investor tax reporting regimes and withholding and tax treaty issues affecting European funds •An understanding of UK Corporate Tax •The following would be an advantage, but are neither required nor expected of candidates •Knowledge of Investment Trusts •Knowledge of structured products •Understanding of US fund structures •Experience in presenting tax issues to small seminar groups
