Our client is looking for a Management Accountant to join their Accountancy team in Guildford on a 9 month contract

• Produce and anaBFPe the monthly management accounts for assigned area ensuring accuracy and robustness of all information. Post necessary accruals, prepayments and adjustments to ensure all income and costs are correctly accounted for. Provide detailed variance analysis to explain key movements working closely with designated Business Finance Partner (BFP) and key stakeholders.

• Working with BFP, provide and update forecasts and annual budgets, liaising with budget holders and challenging variances where necessary. Work with key stakeholders to ensure variances are understood and provide written commentary to explain movements as part of the management information pack.

• Provide support and financial advice to various stakeholders, ensuring that management accounts reports are discussed with budget holders in a timely manner, supplying supporting information where necessary. This will require good communication and relationship building skills.

• Support / Identify value-adding opportunities around cost savings, increased profitability and business enhancement.

• Responsible for completion and clearance of balance sheet reconciliations for assigned area.

• Seek continuous improvement opportunities in processes and reporting, obtaining feedback from users on the proposed improvements. On approval, the post holder is expected, with support of management, to take responsibility for implementation.

• Working with finance colleagues and Business Finance Partners in the provision of financial information (e.g. business cases, external returns).

• Mentor, coach and develop other team members

Profile

A successful candidate will have experience with the above & ideally will be studying ACAA/CIMA/AAT, QBE applicants should apply too
