IICP College are currently seeking to recruit an experienced bookkeeper to operate the college's accounts systems in a fast-paced, dynamic and growing independent provider of third level education. Permanent full-time (5 days per week: Mon-Fri / Tue-Sat alternating). Job Tasks: The bookkeeper will assist with miscellaneous complex accounts and administrative tasks including, but not limited to: Accounts Receivable Calculate, prepare and issue invoices to funders Operate the Direct Debit system, including preparation of monthly files, operation of direct debit software and oversight of payment plans Handle the collections of amounts receivable from all students Primary person responsible for all credit control Oversee student accounts, ensuring compliance with payment plans or other similar payment agreements Accounts Payable Creation and monitoring of Purchase Orders Processing of monthly supplier payments Use AIB iBB for the uploading of payments for the authorised signatories Maintenance of supplier payment requisition log Liaise with suppliers re accounts queries Bank and Cash Management Prepare and complete cash / cheque lodgements (at least weekly) Maintain and operate the organisations Petty Cash system Assign individual bank lodgement details for all payments received Ensure correct recording of cash, cheques, EFTs, card and online payments Track and reconcile all merchant account payments (MOTO & INTERNET) Sage Migration Project Lead the migration of existing spreadsheets accounts system to Sage 50 (with assistance from the outsourced accounting solutions team and oversight from senior management) Miscellaneous Accounts Oversee, organise and facilitate the annual external audit Manage insurance renewals and claims (if any) with the college's broker Liaise with outsourced providers to ensure that tax returns (PAYE/PRISE/ Corporation Tax etc) are paid on time and up-to-date Prepare payroll files in conjunction with the outsourced payroll provider Reporting to senior management team on aspects of role as requested General Tasks (as and when required) Assist in the day-to-day running of a busy, fast-paced office environment Take calls/emails of enquiry from prospective students Assist at College Open Evenings, Taster Evenings, Professional Knowledge Seminars and Graduation Ceremonies Required Skill Set Minimum 5 years' experience working in a bookkeeping or accounts assistant role Qualified Accounts Technician or equivalent Experience in and knowledge of using Sage 50 This role is extremely transactional-heavy requiring a lot of data-entry and payment processing. As such, ability to work at a fast pace, with excellent attention to detail is essential Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g. if-functions, v-lookups, charts and pivot tables) Ability to manage/prioritise concurrent projects Ability to work of own initiative and also as work as part of a small team Experience in the Education Sector considered an advantage Salary Neg.
