Leading the accounting function (Mgmt Accts, Financial Accts, Purchase Ledger, Revenue and Payroll teams). Responsible for the completion of accurate management accounts, year-end statutory reporting and tax compliance, with maintenance of robust financial controls.

Description

To lead the core accounting teams providing effective management and development of processes and people.

Providing technical accounting leadership for the business, liaising with professional advisors to become the internal voice of definition regarding accounting standards and compliance obligations.

Working effectively with commercial finance colleagues and non-finance colleagues, to best support financial performance management of the wider business.

Overseeing production of Year-end stat accounts; liaison with auditors, including managing processes for audit committee.

Responsible for delivery of quarterly bondholder reporting (interim accounts and associated reports)

Responsible for cashflow management in the business. Forecasting, analysing, and intervening to ensure cash management is optimised and tracking and submission of any covenant calculations for banking/bond facilities.

Approving supplier and payroll payment runs.

Effective ownership of the balance sheet in the business. Proactively managing working capital and asset base, whilst maintaining clear view on risks and opportunities, and ensuring reconciliation processes are robust and complete.

Overseeing production of monthly management accounts, providing review and challenge to teams, and advising FD & CFO of performance understanding, risks and opportunities.

Provide leadership relating to all tax matters for the business. Management of all tax calculations and submissions covering VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, Capital allowances, and leading liaison with associated 3rd party advisors.

Provide continual process improvements for a growing business by challenging existing processes and seeking to best use systems development to increase efficiency and accuracy of workflows in all teams. Accounting IT systems management

Responsible for certain Company Secretary activities, and liaison with legal advisors re corporate structuring.

Will play a key role in any corporate transactions, providing support on financing and acquisition/consolidation accounting.

Involvement in significant business projects as required.

Responsible for maintaining all key business supplier contracts.

Profile

Strong technical accountant with proven experience in an FC role (ideally within a multi-site business)

Qualified chartered accountant with at least 7 years PQE

Proven credibility when working with professional 3rd parties such as HMRC/Banks/Auditors and other professional advisors.

Strong manager with proven ability to lead and develop teams and create a motivating culture for team members.

Can positively challenge to bring out the best in others

Can build strong working relationships and networks to enable success across and outside of the business.

Has the ability to manage numerous projects whilst remaining calm, and ensure deadline delivery

Excellent attention to detail and an enquiring mind.

Experience with multiple accounting and payroll software packages (ideally Sage 200, Concur etc).

Ideally has experience of Company Secretarial duties.

Experience of corporate transaction accounting.

Job Offer

Salary of between £70,000 - £85,000. Bonus potential up to 25%.
