Description
The key function of this role is to provide an efficient service to the Firm for Cashiering purposes. This will involve regular liaison with Partners, Fee Earners and Secretaries. The job holder will have responsibility for dealing with all issues that arise effectively, providing a first class service to the firm. In addition the job holder will be versatile to change, generating ideas and embracing new systems that will provide the ability to improve processes.
Key Duties for Legal Cashier Involve:
- Daily allocations of all UK office cash receipts - GBP, cover when required for EUR and USD receipts
- Client to office transfers
- Monitoring client ledgers and liaising with Credit control regarding bills being due, in order not to Breach Rule 17
- Bank reconciliation cover during periods of absence and as required
- Client completions
- Office receipt reversals and re-allocations as required
- Assisting Senior Cashier with Deposit interest runs
- Compilation of Month end Bank rec summaries for Office & Client Account
- Cancellation of out of date Client & Office Account cheques and follow up procedure
- AP payments during absence or sickness
- Client residual balances for three practice areas, building relationships with these departments in order to fully clear the balances
- Support for our International offices, including helping with checking their Bank reconciliations and the SRA Audit
Profile
The successful candidate for the role of Legal Cashier must be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience of working as a Cashier in a legal environment
- Knowledge of SARs
- Good Excel skills and a good working knowledge of other MS packages
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Able to deal with demanding deadlines and work pressures
- Pays attention to detail, is accurate and consistent
- Must be forward thinking and able to use initiative
- Able to work as a team member; with flexibility regarding working hours
Job Offer
A competitive salary of £30,000-£40,000 plus benefits.
