Our client is a fast-growing Wealth Management business, with circa £2.5Bn under management, looking for a financial controller to come on board, reporting directly to the Finance Director with oversight of a team of 3.
The role will be a very dynamic and broad one, during a period of planned growth which should provide plenty of exciting opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial reporting process on an entity basis as well as at group level (both management reporting and statutory reporting)
- Develop systems and processes to improve quality and timeliness of financial reporting
- Manage the production of annual statutory accounts and interface with auditors as required
- Manage the annual budgeting process
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all regulatory returns
- Monitor and / or manage relationships with external key third parties
- Report to the GFD with timely and accurate financial information
- Assist the GFD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members
- Assist with due diligence, and analysis of potential acquisitions
- Responsibility, with support from external consultants, for all UK corporate tax matters and UK tax reporting
- Keep abreast of all relevant UK tax legislation and manage the process to determine the impact of any changes across the firm and investors including managing complex issues
- Work closely with advisers and others internally to ensure the firm is appropriately positioned with respect to tax compliance and to ensure that all UK tax risks are appropriately managed
- Day-to-day responsibility for ensuring the UK tax strategy is aligned with group strategy and managing any interactions with HMRC
- Oversight of all FCA regulatory reporting requirements and ongoing monitoring for Group's regulatory capital requirements
Experience and Qualifications
- ACA (Chartered)
- Proven work experience as a Senior member of a Finance Team
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and tax procedures
- Previous line management experience
