Located in London's West End, our client, a leading Chartered Accountant, is looking for a Payroll Manager to join their payroll & accountancy team.
Description
Located in London's West End, our client is looking for a Payroll Manager with responsibility for the following duties:
Main point of contact for payroll, both for internal and external clients;
Attend client meetings;
Advise clients of setting up PAYE schemes;
Set up PAYE schemes with HMRC;
Advise clients on salary sacrifices such as cycle scheme, pension, Child Care - PAYE and NIC treatments;
Process payroll from start to finish (weekly, fortnightly, monthly, bi-annual and annual payrolls), with one employee to 100+ employees, collectively c1200 employees, for sole traders, LLP and Ltd companies from various industries such as the music industry, property management/lettings companies, corporate companies and also domestic payrolls, bonuses, commissions, allowances, benefits in kind, salary sacrifice;
Set-up and send e-payslips;
Process net salary and PAYE/NIC payments, Child Care Vouchers, for and behalf of clients via online banking and also via the BACS-tel bureau;
Process P45s and P60s;
Experience and knowledge of manual calculations of PAYE and NIC
Administer pension for clients to include calculations of contributions, submissions of contributions, with different pension providers (contractual and auto-enrolment pensions);
Ensure clients are compliant with HMRC PAYE legislation such as Real Time Information (RTI, Full Payment Submission (FPS), Employer Payment Summary (EPS), End of Year Declarations, by the due dates;
Submit Earlier Year Update (EYU) for post year end amendments using Sage Payroll software and HMRC Basic PAYE Tools;
Advice clients on PAYE legislation updates, such as new rates, NIC Employment Allowance
Deal with client employee queries;
Deal with third parties on behalf of the clients such as HMRC, banks, estate agents for rental references, etc;
Voucher
Advise clients on auto-enrolment as and when required;
Direct report to one payroll administrator;
Responsible for the maintenance of Sage Payroll 50, i.e. ensure systems are up to date, report and fix problems, etc.
Set up procedures for the department;
Carry out appraisals
Manage two staff
Deal with compliance regarding anti Money Laundering
Currently working with colleagues regarding General Data Protection Regulation
Ensure all deadlines met by team
Profile
The ideal candidate MUST;
Have line management experience
Have worked in Payroll in a Practice/Chartered Accountants
