Assistant Financial Controller

Our client are a Hertfordshire based manufacturing firm working in Welwyn Garden City who are continually growing in size and expertise, with a strong finance team and part of a global business this is a fantastic opportunity for an assistant financial controller.

Description

• Oversee the production of the month end accounts through to completion

• Review and ownership of the relevant nominal reconciliations

• Daily review of financial transactions

• Maintaining records and preparing management information

• Working closely with the Controller on the production of monthly forecasts

• Review accounts against budget / forecast, explaining any variances

• Purchasing control and reporting versus budget/forecast

• Reviewing the Company's practices and working with operational departments to understand and assess areas of risk

• Driving control and process improvement and audit of internal procedures

• Internal Audit of Controls and compliance ownership

• Day to day management of both internal & external audits

• Assist in and drive forward ad hoc projects, including current MRP and absorption costing projects

• Carry out ad hoc tasks as requested by the Controller

Profile

The successful management accountant will have the following:

CIMA qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA may be considered)

Experience in the manufacturing industry.

Strong management accounts background.

A self-starter, dedicated and drive person with a can do attitude.

Team player who is able to interact with the wider business and proactively support other staff.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with both immediate and production staff.
