Support the management accounts and financial management functions of the assigned units by business partnering, including the provision of financial input and advice, financial analysis and operational support that is required to deliver the complex objectives. You will act as the main point of contact for all specialist project accounting in respect of the assigned units.

Our client is a Public Sector and Government body. A central government executive agency with operational autonomy to advise and support government, local authorities and the NHS on health matters in a professionally independent manner. Customers are diverse including commercial entities, UK Government departments, US government agencies, EU research collaborations and specialist charities.
The Financial Management service sits within the wider finance function and is formed of local teams whose roles cover budget setting and budget monitoring, financial analysis & financial modelling, financial systems, revenue activity and for the provision of a comprehensive business partnering service. Revenue project accounting also falls under the remit of the FM department.
Description
The Finance Manager is a key role within the finance team. Assisting the Senior Finance Manager and leading a team of two Management Accountants, you will manage the costing, planning, monitoring, audit and reporting of grant and commercial income and associated costs for the assigned areas. You will manage the preparation of reports as required by customers and management alike, whilst working to strict and frequent deadlines.
Profile
The ideal candidate:
- ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
- Commercial background and experience of managing commercial income is preferable
- Knowledge of all aspects of financial management, thorough understanding of management accounting principles and further specialist knowledge or experience of project accounting
- Good interpersonal skills
- Business partnering experience
- Up to date technical accounting knowledge and ability
The role is based in Edgware, North London but will require frequent travel to Salisbury.
Job Offer
Grade 7 pay band plus benefits (£48,000-£61,000)
37.5 hour week
Flexibility to work from home for up to 2 days a week
