The Institutional Client Group ("ICG") Expense Analytics & Productivity team supports the ICG FP&A Head and five Global Product LFOs by leading and managing all global financial and analysis processes related to approximately $21 billion of expenses and 50 thousand headcount in the ICG franchise, including compensation and non-compensation direct expenses, charge-outs, investments & productivity initiatives. The approximately 45 employee team in NY, Mumbai and Costa Rica manages the process and delivery of financial projections for plans and outlooks, identifies expenses risks and opportunities, proactively produces analysis of expense drivers, trends and performance relative to targets and external firm commitments, and supports other critical financial planning cycles including CCAR and MCST. The team is also responsible for leading and driving "real productivity" capabilities in ICG across our various value chains and expense categories to achieve sustainable bottom-line impact. This includes: Reviewing end to end processes for improvement opportunities Optimizing business and operating models; Simplifying organizational structures; Creating industrial-strength franchise processes. ICG Expense Analytics & Productivity team uses a hypothesis-driven, fact-based methodology where our teams analyze data and engage with stakeholders to deconstruct complex business problems, identify root causes, draw meaningful conclusions, and formulate recommendations for ICG senior stakeholders. The ICG Expense Analytics & Productivity P&A Group Manager will report to the Global Head of ICG Expense Analytics and Productivity and will be responsible to drive productivity programs in ICG as well as manage and provide guidance on global financial analysis for ICG expenses & drivers (Compensation/Non Compensation, Chargeouts & Special Projects). Key Functions for ICG Expense Analytics & Productivity P&A Group Manager: Collaborate with business and function managers to identify significant opportunities for cost optimization; Lead in developing compelling executive presentations that recommend and persuade specific courses of action for decision makers; Develop and maintain rigorous project plans and manage tactical project needs, including resource requirements, relationship management, and task management; Support business reviews and assist in driving influence of ICG Productivity & Investment program into business strategy Manage and provide guidance on global financial analysis processes for ICG expenses & drivers (Compensation/Non Compensation, Chargeouts & Special Projects) Provide thought leadership & insights for regular senior management financial performance and strategy reviews (e.g., Monthly or Quarterly Business Reviews, Outlooks, CCAR, Plan, External financial conferences, among others) Identification of expenses risks and opportunities by developing solid relationships with Global Products and Regional FP&A teams Deliver forward-looking analysis on expenses and productivity insights to influence senior management to achieve productivity savings Partner with Global Product LFOs & Regional LFOs to provide expense analytics and productivity support Oversight, coaching and development of the team across offices in NY, Mumbai and Costa Rica Requirements: Critical thinking and problem solving: Drive qualitative and quantitative analysis, addressing ambiguity in available data and input Formulate hypotheses and identify actionable insights that challenge the status quo Versed in a range of problem solving approaches and capable of optimizing techniques to yield the best results Communication & Reporting: Independently develop stand-alone portions of executive documents Effectively communicate complex concepts to senior executive audiences Assists in preparing the Budget, Forecast, and Strategic Plan Productivity processes ICG by liaising with Business, Finance and the Operations Leads Delivers reporting and supplying data for program tracking related to ICG Productivity Team engagement and stakeholder management: Builds relationships with and influence stakeholders on path forward Project management: Structure and execute own workstream & deliverables Anticipate issues and put in place mitigation strategies; see dependencies and connectivity across workstreams Bias for action: Track record of driving parts of large scale transformations and/or implementation of high-impact initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (preference for Finance, Economics, or other related field) Master's degree preferred (MBA or equivalent degree) 10 - 15 Years of work experience preferred Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to deliver analyses in a concise and logical manner Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong project management skills and a strong team player Experience with global operating model design, product and process transformation, financial planning & analysis and business case development, change management, relationship management, and/or strategy formulation and implementation with global financial institutions Proficient in Excel and Power Point; other analysis and visualization tools a plus Prior experience in management consulting, financial services or business strategy a plus ICG Expense Analytics & Productivity - P&A Senior Group Manager
