China Tax Leader - Career Day
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead China Tax team
• Devise and implement tax planning
• Handle acquisitions, divestitures and mergers in China
• Design, implement and maintain best practices to minimize tax risk
• Co-ordinate and defend tax audits
• Assist in obtaining approval for payments to foreign parties
• Oversee income tax and indirect tax compliance
• Handle tax financial reporting to the head office
• Manage day-to-day tax issues
• Oversee transfer pricing matters and work closely with global transfer pricing team in Canada
• Communicate with operating divisions regarding tax risks and tax development
• Work closely with external partners (e.g. tax advisors) in a cost effective manner.
• Carry out all duties in accordance with Magna’s internal policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as Magna’s Corporate Constitution and Employee’s Charter
• Effective leadership and management skills.
• Effective and efficient written and oral communication skills in both Chinese and English.
• Extensive knowledge of Chinese direct & indirect taxes and understanding of tax and accounting implications of global manufacturing operations, including transfer pricing.
• Ability to translate strategic concepts into practical solutions.
WORK EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:
• At least 8 years of tax practice in China preferably with experience in one of four big accounting firms (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PwC) or a law firm with a large tax practice.
• A university degree in accounting or in law.
OTHERS:
• Travel within China and to North America required.
