Asset Management - Operations Manager

Duties & responsibilities:
• Head mid-office operations dedicated for the Asset Management arm of an established securities brokerage firm;
• Provide operational support to Asset Management teams and advices including operational risks, fund set-ups, investor subscription and redemption, fund valuation, reporting, and reconciliation, fund accounting, and fees calculation, etc.;
• Participate regularly in client discussions, on-boarding, client due diligence and document preparations to ensure operational workflow comply with legal and compliance, regulatory and internal operating guidelines;
• Review business mandates, ensure all operational activities and staff activities are following the operating policies and procedures in daily work;
• Liaise and coordinate with varies internal and external parties including Legal and Compliance, Finance, Back-office Operations, trustees, custodians, brokers, law firms and accountants for ensuring success of product launches and daily operations;
• Ensure all operational issues are solved in a professional and timely manner;
• Establish operating policies and procedures, track documentations, project workflow, and CRM systems;
• Propose and implement operation flows for existing products and new businesses;
• Review and improve operations policies and procedures on regular basis;
• Ad hoc projects may come up periodically.

Requirements:
• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related disciplines, advanced degree in related field is a plus though not required;
• CFA or CPA qualification is an advantage, especially with familiarity in accounting;
• 3+ years on experience in fund operations and administration;
• Attention to details, ability to work with teams, and professionalism are required;
• Leadership skills are a plus, previous team leader experience are an advantage;
• Understanding of the asset management operations workflow is a plus;
• Understanding of custodian banks, brokers, legal and compliance are a plus;
• Familiarity with SFC regulations, onshore and offshore investment rules and tax issues;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Mandarin;
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as assistant operations manager / operations officer.
