The Global Manager Research Team plays a critical role in driving our clients' decision making around the selection, monitoring and de-selection of investment managers. We have one of the largest global manager research teams in the industry with over 100 researchers spread across most major investment regions of the world and following one global, integrated research process. Our analysis is built on a foundation of in-depth research starting with a thorough understanding of the investment philosophy and process applied by the asset manager.
In this role you will provide support in identifying and researching best in class investment funds and other investment vehicles such as separately managed accounts and co-investment opportunities. You will be part of a large collaborative global team which will provide opportunity to expand your investment knowledge and analytical skills whilst contributing to the team's thought leadership. You will also assist in providing first-class advice to a range of clients on a range of services.
The Role:
Manager selection ensuring our best ides get into client portfolios
Analysis and consideration of returns underlying an investment
Investment manager monitoring
Portfolio construction
Support senior analysts, consultants and senior consultants
Timely production of research documentation and quantitative analysis
Support due diligence on new ideas across both Australian and global real assets
Scope to take on credit research responsibilities in the future
Ensure quality criteria are adhered to
Complete assignments with minimal supervision
Be an active participant in the global research team
Liaise with members of the wider investment team in order to acquire the necessary data and understanding of the client's needs
Assist in providing advice on manager selection, de-selection and portfolio construction
Build strong relationships externally with the investment manager community and internally collaborate on cross-functional teams
Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels
The Requirements:
Undergraduate degree
Commitment to completing either CFA or actuarial qualifications (for which Willis Towers Watson provides generous support)
A passion for investments, an inquisitive mind and eagerness to learn
Strong ability to balance lateral thinking with pragmatism
Strong ability to utilise your written and verbal communication skills to formulate and present recommendations
Strong analytical skills
A natural affinity with people and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular
Some interstate and occasional overseas travel required
Please provide a copy of your most recent academic transcript with your application.
Candidates must have either Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an appropriate permanent working visa.
