A great opportunity to join a growing investment manager based in London.

The role is accounts payable focused and sits within the financial control team.

Client Details

A London based investment manager.

The business is around 100 staff in London and also has a New York office.

Description

Manage accounts payable function for UK and US entities, including:

  • Ensure approvals obtained for all invoices
  • Ensure invoices go through correct approval and payment process (fund related or management companies)
  • Ensure management company invoices are correctly categorised in ledger according to the chart of accounts
  • Scanning and filing of invoices/relevant documentation
  • Weekly payment runs
  • Respond to supplier queries
  • Ensure supplier information is kept up to date
  • Monthly aged payables reconciliation
  • Identify and execute process improvements
  • Administration of corporate credit cards (c. 15 cards in issue)
  • Open/close credit card accounts as requested
  • Work with card holders and PA's to obtain receipts/invoices
  • Ensure card spend correctly categorised and input into ledger
  • Expense claim administration
  • Process expense claims ahead of payment through payroll
  • Ensure claims correctly categorised and input into ledger
  • Assistance with Treasury function
  • Weekly bank reconciliations
  • Monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient funds in correct currency for payment runs
  • Set up ad-hoc payments in HSBCnet
  • Other additional duties as and when required



Profile

Desirable experience:

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience within Financial Services
    • Minimum 2Y experience in accounts payable
    • Dealing with domestic and international payments
    • Ability to demonstrate familiarity with ledger systems and multi-layered chart of accounts. Experience of Epicor accounting systems a bonus but not essential
    • Strong attention to detail and numeracy
    • Professionalism and persistence with excellent communication skills in order to ensure that colleagues provide information/approvals in good time
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel as this is extensively used in Accounts payable for uploading information into the ledger
    • Pro-active, positive personality - this is a small finance team which requires flexibility and encourages new ideas.
