Overview State Street Global Services, provides asset owners and managers with a wide range of support, from core custody, accounting and fund administration to complete servicing for complex alternative assets like unlisted unit trusts, OTC derivatives and private equity & limited partnerships. We also deliver innovative performance measurement and analytics tools, giving our clients the information they need to make better-informed decisions. POSITION SUMMARY The Unlisted Unit Trust team is responsible for servicing our client's investments in external Australian and Global Unlisted Unit Trusts. This includes the application and redemption process, processing of the corresponding accounting entries, the valuation of all holdings and reconciliation with the external Unit Registries. There is interaction with internal and external clients as well as funds managers, pricing vendors and Unit Registries. This team currently looks after over 800 products and has a relationship with 70 unit registries.
This role provides an opportunity to build knowledge around Unlisted Investments. The role demands effective time management, strong relationship building capabilities and attention to detail. The role also requires liaison with and delivery to both internal and external entities. All deliverables need to be timely and accurate.
You will also need to be a team player, be able to lead by example and demonstrate the ability to engage with other employees to achieve success. You will embrace change and continuously look to make further improvements within your team, as well as understand where your role fits in with the organisation's strategy and how you can contribute to the overall success of the business.
Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the account opening and client on boarding process for a new client
  • Check and authorize MCH trades and ledgers prior to inputting on system
  • Pricing
  • Preparation and audit of distributions
  • Authorize and release the application and redemption transactions on GSMAC where applicable
  • Authorize applications and redemptions sent directly to unit registries
  • Ensure all settlements are processed in a timely manner and follow up outstanding settlements with external registries
  • Co-ordinate asset transfers including dealings with Stamp duty offices, external registries, external consultants and clients
  • Check and authorize all clean cash and internal transfer
  • Work with Administrators to ensure daily deliverables are met

Education and Skills
  • Previous experience completing account opening forms with Banks would be preferred
  • Experience as a people manager with direct reports is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of fund accounting concepts

  • Strong PC Skills - MS Word, Excel and Access
  • Strong research and problem solving skills
  • Strong Attention to detail and time management skills.
