Financial Controller

Following a recent change in the business, my client a renowned brand with service operations all over the world is looking for a Financial Controller to work with operations, sales and the FD to deliver growth in the coming years.

My client, a division of a group in the UK, has recently completed a dramatic turnaround following a recent period of change and strategic planning. The Financial Controller role that has been created, will play a critical role in the delivery of the next phase of growth.

Description

As the Financial Controller for this business, you will be the go to person for all things financial and work closely with the transactional team in the group function. The role will act as the successor to the Divisional Finance Director pending delivery of the next phase in the strategic plan.

Key deliverables include:.

• Getting hands-on with the delivery of the financial performance
• Clearly embedding processes with a junior analyst and supporting their development
• Supporting the Operations Director on the next phase of growth
• Ownership of financial reporting to the senior management
• Act as the number 2 in finance and the succession plan for the Finance Director

Profile

The new Financial Controller will need to be able to anticipate the opportunities and risks within the divisional business. The candidate will also need to demonstrate a relevant background with a professional qualification: ACCA, CIMA or ACA backed-up with a strong academic record.

Accounting training from an audit firm would be beneficial and ideally the successful candidate will:

• Be willing to get your hands-dirty and do the doing when required
• Think strategically and see the opportunity beyond the immediate
• Have a can-do attitude and the willingness to progress a business
• Have strong communication skills
