This is a new role that will suit a confident and ambitious Finance professional, that is inspired by the opportunity to play a key role in establishing the Operational Business Partnering function. To be the lead Business Partner for the Operations team, helping to drive improvements in operational performance through recommendations to the Operations teams.

A market leading manufacturing organisation that has shown consistent growth over the last few years are looking to recruit an experienced operationally focused accountant to join their finance team.

Description

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishment & Leadership of the Operational Finance function
  • P&L ownership from actual Variable Contribution Costs (incl. variances to standard) down to Operational overheads, including depreciation
  • Balance Sheet ownership of Fixed Assets, Inventory and Operational related Prepayments and Accruals
  • Sharing best practice reporting and knowledge with other Operational Finance Business Partners across
  • Manage all insight andKPI reporting for Operations Teams ensuring accuracy and understanding across all aspects of the function
  • Business Partner to Operations Director and other managers within the Operations function, ensuring full communication and support as required
  • Lead the management of all elements of the company's physical Inventory from a Finance perspective, including providing financial oversight onstocktakes and reviewing reconciliations and adjustments
  • Lead investigation into variances (Direct Labour, Distribution, Material Usage, etc) arising with Operations Teams, to provide insight and financial/data support to assist resolution of issues
  • Responsible for delivery of month-end Overheads for all Operations cost centres, monitoring & challenging spend to budget/forecast as needed
  • Continued development of Factory Floor understanding via time spent working and observing the Factory Floor processes
  • Oversee Master Data and Change Control functions within Operations Finance for products/items, including time management and prioritisation as needed
  • Ownership of theCapex approval process, working closely with Engineering dept.
  • Co-ordinate Operations related input to weekly & monthly financial forecast, providing full explanation of results and understanding of variances
  • Maintain good working relationships with Commercial teams to understand impact of commercial plans across Operations business unit
  • Support Finance Manager to deliver Budget & Forecasting for Operations areas ensuring accuracy, efficiency and meeting business deadlines
  • Profile

    The successful candidate will:

    • CIMA (preferred) /ACCA/ACA Qualified
    • Previous experience within a Finance Business Partnering role
    • Prior knowledge gained in Operations/Manufacturing environment
    • Detailed understanding of Manufacturing and Costing processes
    • Ability to analyse and interpret variances, and drive business improvement through this
    • Strong IT skills, including excel (incl. financial modelling)
