Group Accountant

Group Accountant £40,000 Stafford

Your new company

My client is looking for a qualified Group Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. You will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for producing consolidated financial information for the board and other key stakeholders across the business.

Your new role

As a Group Accountant you will be responsible for the following duties

• Preparation of a monthly consolidated balance sheet.
• Preparation of a monthly group cash flow forecast.
• Preparation of technical accounting entries affecting the group accounts, including IFRS15, IFRS16, goodwill impairment and R&D capitalisation.
• Management of inter company accounts, including inter company recharges and account reconciliation.
• Production of year-end schedules for audit.
• Preparation of statutory accounts for all group companies.
• Liaising directly with the group auditors to provide all necessary supporting information to ensure a smooth audit process.
• Liaising directly with the group tax advisors to provide all necessary supporting information to ensure timely completion of the group tax returns.
• Ad-hoc duties within the finance department.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be CIMA/ACCA or ACA qualified, ideally have knowledge of IFRS and be comfortable dealing with senior management. You will have ability to prioritise tasks under pressure and to work to tight deadlines. You will have good organisation and communication skills as well as outgoing personality. Excellent Excel skills are essential in this role.

What you'll get in return
