Michael Page are currently exclusively partnering with a Not for Profit organisation in Chippenham, to appoint a Management Accountant in to their finance team. We are looking for an accountant who is motivated by building effective working relationships with non-finance department's and continuously improving processes and procedures within the team.

Description

Financial, Management Accounting & Budgets:

• Ensure effective preparation of any annual budgets within areas of responsibility.

• Produce monthly management accounting information for management team and budget managers. Monitor expenditure and forecast in partnership with budget managers.

• Produce statutory accounts with relevant notes and workings within areas of responsibility. Liaise with External Audit as necessary and comply with all statutory and legal requirements.

• Produce the quarterly information as required for the management team, the Board, relevant agencies and Funders. Produce regular financial reports for Committee or Board.

• Reconcile key control accounts every month.

Business performance

• Monitor, analyse and update the bench marking database and provide support for internal and external key performance indicators.

• Provide management with statistical information.

• Ensure that the organisations revenue position is maximised with particular regard to the procurement of goods and services.

Procurement and Projects

• Provide support for the enhancement of the procurement system, including the review of information produced and the efficiency of the processes.

• Actively develop reports to improve management information.

Systems of Internal Controls

• Ensure that the system of internal controls is adhered to at all times and advise management of any breach.

• Recommend streamlining the process where appropriate and highlight any potential problem areas.

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Management Accounting position:

• Qualified Accountant - ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent

• At least 3 years experience of working in a finance department.

• Working knowledge of company structures, financial & management accounts production, budgeting & re-forecasting, working capital cost control, finance process & systems change.

• Knowledge of statutory reporting and of UK and International GAAP and accounting standards.

• Understanding of financial ledgers and accounting entries
