This Accountant/ Bookkeeper position based in Sawston, South Cambridge is tasked with providing a high level of support to the Finance Department. With duties including inputting of invoices and payments management, troubleshooting, management and supporting the implementation of internal financial systems and liaison with internal budget holders this role is based in the Design and Creative Technology arena

An SME business who are tight knit and all muck in to support eachother. This role is one of two in finance and will have full responsibility for feeding all transactions and processing into the Financial Controller
Description
Accountant / Bookkeeper job duties and responsibilities;
- Inputting or uploading supplier invoices into Sage Line 50
- Key supplier liaison and relationship maintenance
- Regular bank payment runs in conjunction with payment approvers
- Accurate management of the company's lab purchase order system and other 'contract tracking' systems
- Other SAGE maintenance month end routines (may include items such as accruals, prepayments and other journals)
- Regular bank reconciliations
- Timesheet maintenance
- Updating and maintaining of the Fixed Asset Register
- Arrange and attend monthly / ad hoc finance meetings. Document and follow up on minutes / actions
- Annual audit support
- Administrative and financial submissions adhering to necessary deadlines (such as insurance, P11Ds etc.)
- A wide range of ad hoc admin support such as management of business mobile phones, maintenance and development of the finance area on the company intranet, filing and general office management duties, or any other matters as may reasonably be requested by the Finance Controller or CFO.
Profile
Experience and characteristics;
- Proven background of working within the finance administration field
- Previous experience of working within a small company
- Prior SAGE experience
- Good numeracy and administrative skills
- Proficient in the use of Excel and Word. Prior knowledge of Powerpoint an advantage
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to prioritise work - works well under pressure and meets deadlines
- Helpful, flexible, pro-active approach to work
- A team player with a willingness to tackle both new and routine tasks
- Excellent abilities in record keeping
