Following internal movement there is a new opportunity for a qualified accountant to join an SME legal firm in a broad end-to-end Finance Manager position.

My client is an established SME legal firm based in the city of London. They employ circa 700 people and have 30 partners. Thye have a strong track record internationally and are recognised for their delivery of service. As a firm they have a refreshingly relaxed culture with a strong work-life balance offering.

Description

As the Finance Manager you will be reporting directly to the Finance Director in a number 2 role. You will have part-time support at a junior level, but primarily you will run the day-to-day accounting for the firm. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Development of accurate reporting processes with robust controls procedures;
  • Lead role on the new system appraisal process and subsequent implementation;

  • Ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting;

  • Production of accurate management information packs for review by the Partners with value-add KPI reporting;
  • Lead on budget and forecast preparation with relevant insight into performance vs budget;

  • Analysis of client performance to provide insight to the Partners;

  • Management of the transactional elements including AP and AR with part-time support;

  • Ownership of VAT, partner, and corporation tax work;

  • Ad hoc analysis and project work as required.

Profile

As a strong applicant for this Finance Manager role you will:

- Be a qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with a strong academic background;

- Possess a strong month end control skill-set and have a background in management accounts preparation;

- Ideally have broader exposure to leading budgeting and forecasting processes;

- Professional services experience is advantageous;

- Be comfortable working autonomously;

- Be able to operate at both a senior level for stakeholder interaction but also be happy getting your hands dirty when required.

Job Offer

The offer to the successful candidate will be between £55,000-£60,000 + benefits including pension, PMI, etc. You will also be joining a firm with a strong work-life balance focus. You will also be supported to broaden and grow your experience by being given projects to lead.
