This is a newly created Group Accountant role with a leading manufacturer, centrally located in Bristol. The client are ideally looking for a recently qualified candidate from a practice or audit background.

Client Details

My client are a market-leading manufacturer in Bristol, with their Head Office and main site located relatively centrally.

Description

The role holder will be responsible for producing monthly consolidated management accounts, annual statutory accounts (both at an entity and Group level). You will be working closely with the Group FC in implementing and reviewing accounting principles, policies and practices.

You will work very closely with the Head of Financial Planning and Commercial Finance Business partners on producing a consolidated budget and forecast.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing a model to consolidate the Group results; both monthly and annually.
  • Collation of management accounts from around the group and preparation of monthly consolidated group results.
  • Responsible for the collation of and the consolidation of the Group forecast, budget and 3 year plan schedules and packs.
  • Responsible for the preparation of the subsidiary statutory accounts
  • Assist with the repatriation (during 2018/early 2019) of the group statutory accounting processes from the Group's external auditors.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Group statutory accounts.
  • Responsible for all accounting operations for the parent company
  • Responsible for accounting, forecasting and budgeting for all corporate areas of the group.
  • Production of Group monthly board and management packs
  • Develop Group accounting policies and processes in conjunction with the GFC.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development of corporate governance procedures, risk management process and developing further the internal controls framework of the Group.
  • Responsible for assisting the GFC in managing the Group's insurance programme.
  • Liaison with the Group's external auditors. Assist in managing the relationship with the external auditors
  • Close liaison with Entity Accountants
  • Assisting the Group companies with technical financial advice as appropriate.
  • Group short term cash flow modelling (Treasury)
  • Assist GFC in managing the relationship with Lloyds bank and ensure the Group is compliant with banking requirements

Profile

You will be professionally qualified (ACA or ACCA), ideally through an accountancy practice. It would be preferable if you have experience of working with growing business in manufacturing and/or retail/consumer trading sectors during audit assignments. You will be comfortable with consolidating Group accounts. You will be comfortable with group company structures and within a matrix finance team structure.

Job Offer

This role will pay a salary of £40-45,000.
