The Management Accountant role will assist in the management of financial controls for an industry leading national food manufacturer, ensuring best practice in the preparation of the companies accounts and compliance with all regulatory requirements placed on the business.

To develop and operate systems to assist accurate preparation of monthly management accounts and provide decision to support the business.

Description

As Management Accountant your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in producing the monthly Management Accounts for the group on accordance with the timetable approved by the CFO on behalf of the board.
  • Ensure all accounting entries are processed in the most efficient manner, with reconciliations of balances on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain and update the Companies Fixed Asset register reviewing capital spend and ensuring financial controls are adhered to.
  • Establish relationships and liaise with Heads of Department to ensure that all income and costs are accounted for accurately and variances to investigated and understood.
  • Produce and present monthly management schedules to Heads of Department to ensure all income and costs are accounted for accurately and variances to budget are investigated and understood.
  • To assist financial planning in the production of the annual budget and forecasting.
  • Ensure all company reports are reconciled back to the monthly accounts.

Profile

The ideal Management Accountant will be:

  • Part qualified and continuing study towards achieving CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualification.
  • Able to fully understand accounting functions such as purchase ledger, sales ledger and management accounting.
  • Accurate and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and have good organisational skills.
  • A good communicator both verbally and written.
  • Confident in explaining financial information to non-financial key decision makers.
  • Full competent in Excel and other accountancy packages.
  • Flexible and able to cover other finance department tasks.
  • Enthusiastic in supporting the development of the business.
