About Financial Advisory

Financial Advisory (FA) practice of Deloitte China provides strategic and financial advisory services to clients throughout all phases of the economic cycle. FA comprises several distinct but related global service lines whose shared principal objective is the creation and enhancement of shareholder and stakeholder value.


Our Asia Pacific Financial Crime Strategy and Response Centre delivers market leading advisory and response solutions to our financial services clients. The Centre collaborates with Audit & Assurance, Tax & Legal, Consulting and Risk Advisory Services colleagues - whilst utilizing our analytics and technology expertise - to provide a differentiated service to our clients.

Work you'll do:

  • Be part of a team that delivers financial crime projects for financial institutions

  • Apply statistical, econometric and financial expertise to translate structured and unstructured data into useful information

  • Apply Deloitte's tools and methodologies to respond to a discovery request

  • Investigate and compiles case information to critique the adversary's position and help build the client's position

  • Anticipate emerging threats through the use of market-leading technology to uncover possibilities that others may fail to find

  • Identify, measure, and mitigate the impact of frauds and other business threats, using Deloitte's advanced research and analytic capabilities

  • Select appropriate methods for collecting and analyzing data, and develop informed recommendations to alleviate business concerns

  • Apply finance knowledge to effectively diagnose a crisis situation and/or help stabilize a client's business

  • Produce a high quality work product and collaborates with others to deliver a superior client experience

  • Manage own work in an ethical manner with a continuous attention to quality and risk rules, and confidentiality

  • Build models that are sophisticated, robust, and easily interpreted to inform insights

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or about in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Law or related disciplines
  • Certification of CICPA, HKCPA, CFE or relevant qualification is preferred but not essential
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a professional services firm or a financial institution
  • Fundamental experience in financial crime in AML advisory, transaction monitoring, sanctions advisory, client due diligence, business intelligence, investigations, market conduct, anti-fraud, information security or anti bribery & corruption
  • Candidates with engagement specific exposure to financial crime as part of external audit or internal controls work will also be considered
  • Must be proficient at conducting fieldwork; this includes but is not limited to gathering of information, analysis of data and drafting of findings
  • Must be collaborative, a team player who can connect with a diverse group people and build rapport
  • Must be able to operate with minimal supervision and think laterally
  • Must have a strong desire for an exceptional challenge in a unique but flourishing environment
  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin/Cantonese
