Our client, operating in a niche and highly interesting sector are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join their well, established business which is located on the outskirts of Swindon.

The crux of the role is to supervise and lead a team of Accounts Assistants looking after the ledgers including overall responsibility for all of the elements that contribute to Gross Profit from a Finance perspective which includes Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Stock, and WIP, and covers all associated transactions, calculations, reports and reconciliations to include providing commercial support for the Project Managers and Directors to understand the profitability of projects and to provide data, analysis and support as required by the operational teams.

Management Accounts - Reporting accurate month-end position for relevant nominal codes. Analysis of monthly margin reconciliation by contract. Calculation of accrued and deferred income. Monthly WIP journals and related accruals.
Monthly Stock / WIP close process and journals and reconciliation of relevant Balance Sheet accounts.

Stock / Inventory - Reconciliation of the month end stock ledgers. Review of standard costs and year end stock provisions.

Work in Progress - Reconciliation of WIP ledger to the NL. Monthly accounting for completed contracts, to include identifying completed contracts and accruing committed costs. Review of balances on the WIP ledger to ensure they are valid. Review of WIP to ensure all contracts are invoiced.

Analysis of Contracts - Analysis of contract costs and margins to budget.

Budgets - Support in preparation of yearly budgets. Preparation of half yearly forecasts. Produce budgets in a file that can be uploaded into Sage.

Year End Audit - Support in production of statutory year end file for the external auditors and tax computations.

• Maintenance of documented processes, systems and internal controls.
• Supervise the calculation, reconciliation and declaration of VAT, CIS and Intrastat.
• Supervise the calculation, reconciliation and reporting required for Invoice Discounting.
• Setup of reports on Sage to aid interpretation of management accounts.

The position will suit an experienced people manager that can lead from the front and who has excellent double entry knowledge, is systems savvy to include advanced excel skills.

You will be either Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA, or have a similar level of experience.

Must have experience in accounts function, as a management / financial accountant producing monthly reporting information.
Excellent staff management and coaching skills preferably gained supervising ledger clerks.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
