AECOM is recruiting a Project Accountant who will join our Project Finance team based from our centrally located offices in London on a 12 month fixed term contract

The role will see you being responsible for working with Project Managers and delivery teams in a specified end market and will monitor and analyse revenue to ensure relevant revenue recognition methods are used.

Job Duties:

  • Interface regularly with Project Managers and project delivery teams.
  • Monitor project performance and key indicators.
  • Support PMs as required in understanding project performance.
  • Monitor and analyses revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition methods used.
  • Explain key project metrics and lead indicators.
  • Understand the impact on Revenue Recognition of any unusual contractual issues on projects within the portfolio.
  • Participate in project review preparation, execution, and follow up.
  • Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects.
  • Ensure that the company's internal controls are consistently applied, compliance with SOX.
  • Month end close, including project revenue adjustments, WIP and loss provision analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

To be successful in this role we would like to hear from candidates with the following;

  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful, hands on and work both independently and as part of high-performing team
  • Some flexibility to work outside normal working hours to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience as a Project Accountant ideally working on a large portfolio
  • Extensive experience with percent complete revenue recognition method on consulting projects.
  • Experience of presenting finance material to Senior Leadership.
  • Active experience of working with Oracle Financials.
  • Experience with IFRS, US GAAP.
  • Experience of internal audit process reviews.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideally degree educated or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or similar.
  • Either qualified with AAT/ACCA/CIMA or working towards.
