Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working closely with a large and prestigious South Yorkshire based business as they look to recruit an ambitious Assistant Finance Manager to work from their offices in Sheffield. This role will be a key part of the finance team and will encompass both the management and financial aspects of accounting so would be particularly well suited to a first time mover from practice, looking to expand their skill set in a more commercial direction.

Some of the core aspects of the role will include:-

• Lead in the provision of financial advice on projects
• Scope projects financially
• Identify funding needs and sources
• Prepare funding applications
• Perform risk analysis
• Appropriate treatment of capital and revenue
• Financial modelling
• Value for money testing
• Sensitivities/ options appraisal
• Affordability assessments
• Liaison with external advisers
• Preparing business cases/statements of financial implications
• Support procurement: design and apply bid evaluation criteria
• Commercial terms; pricing, paymech, kpi’s
• Financially monitor actual and prospective private sector partners
• Develop funding assumptions, scenarios, effects
• Review terms and conditions
• Ensure financial obligations of contracting partners are delivered inc. eg profit sharing, benchmarking, market testing
• Financial assessment of contract changes

Key duties and responsibilities of this role of Assistant Finance Manager will include:

• To assist in the management of a financial services team
• To contribute to the delivery of financial services that support corporate planning, performance and strategy
• To support continuous improvement in the finance function
• To support the development and implementation of strategies and plans to improve financial management standards
• To support the development and implementation of policies and practices to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and best practice accounting policies and processes

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

• CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
• Ability to produce accurate management accounts and insightful management information
• Experience of leading teams
• Good commercial acumen
• Excellent IT and Excel skills
