As the Finance Assistant you would be supporting the Finance Manager in all aspects of Finance and you must prepared to work directly with customers to help them with their enquires.

Description
As the Finance Assistant you would be:
Assisting the finance manager in the overall functioning of the accounting system and procedures across the charity, ensuring systems are robust and data is accurate
Responsible for day to day processing of supplier and customer invoices, scheduling, monitoring and recording all payments, and credit control for debtors
Preparing and processing month end and quarterly journals in conjunction with Finance Manager and reconcile control accounts back to trial balance
Responsible for cash flow information, including projection of cash flow requirements. You will need to provide up to date information on actual spend and forecasts for Management reports, ensuring sufficient cash is available to fund its financial obligations at the appropriate times. Also to manage the petty cash system.
Responsible for the processing of payroll function in partnership with Finance and to prepare and reconcile monthly payroll and pension payments, including all reporting to HMRC
Responsible for any Gift aid claims and record payments from donations or fundraising
Monitoring requirements around VAT reporting thresholds
Assisting in the preparation of the annual budgets
Preparing funders' reports and claims and provide information for funding bids as required
Profile
The successful candidate will:
Be studying or have completed an AAT or equivalent Finance qualification
Have used an ERP system i.e. Sage, SAP or Oracle
