Client Details

This business is based just outside Oxford and operate on an international scale, the team that you will be moving into is newly established in order to take on the reporting and analysis across the group.

They operate out of easy to access offices in Oxford with parking on site and access via public transport.

The business has gone through a time of expansion and as a result there is the opportunity to put in place controls and processes that are currently either not there or could be improved upon, which gives any aspiring candidate an excellent opportunity to add highly influential experience to their portfolio of skills.

Description

The key duties of the Commercial Analyst will be to:

• Working alongside the rest of the wider company in business partnering the network of marketing directors and cost centre managers/directors.

• Working collaboratively with Finance Shared Services to understand the company's financial processes and help deliver effective and accurate management reporting

• Using Oracle/SAP Planning on a regular basis for analysis, management reporting and submitting forecasts

• Communicating financial results to directors on a regular basis and working with them to understand variances to forecasts

• Identifying opportunities to improve performance monitoring and perform ad hoc analysis

• Aiding in the financial modelling of new business ventures

• Becoming a competent user of the in-house system

• Training staff in (for example) the use of POs; the correcting of records & identifying costs requiring accruals

Profile

The successful Commercial Analyst will be actively working towards their ACCA/CIMA and will be able to draw on previous experience of:

• Analysis of variance against budget
• Aspects of business partnering
• Influencing and explaining commercial outcomes to non finance members
