Capital Markets are partnering with a US headquartered pharmaceutical company to recruit a VAT Analyst for their offices in Little Island, Cork. Ideal Profile: CTA/AITI Qualified with 4-5 years' experience in a Finance/VAT function or Accounting Practice. US GAAP/IFRS technical accounting knowledge is advantageous. This newly created position will support their European affiliates in meeting all VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List & SAFT obligations as set out under EU and domestic law and ensure that VAT is correctly accounted for in their financial statements. Responsibilities will include: Act as the primary resource for all VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List & SAFT related queries Prepare the periodic VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List & SAFT reports for review by the local affiliate prior to final submission to the affiliate tax authorities Coordinate & complete all necessary VAT postings for month/quarter/year end close activities Ensure governance of, as well as support for, the external BPO team, regarding the quality of VAT related entries Prepare/Review/Approve VAT account reconciliations in accordance with internal reconciliation methodology Review key VAT metrics & communicate to stakeholders to ensure key deliverables are being met whilst identifying and implementing initiatives to improve. Support the overall VAT team by demonstrating flexibility in providing cover for team members and training of new team members Demonstrate a strong compliance oriented mindset & help to build a strong compliance culture Familiarise with all applicable financial policies, process documentation & training materials to ensure you operate in a fully compliant manner Ensure ownership for all applicable Sox & Operational controls for your area Actively work with the core team members, internal customers/business partners, to build effective working relationships Demonstrate excellence in all interactions with our internal customers & business partners Knowledge, Skills and Experience: CTA/AITI Qualified with 4-5 years' experience in a Finance/VAT function or Accounting Practice. US GAAP/IFRS technical accounting knowledge is advantageous. Accounting/Finance degree (Undergraduate or Masters as required for certification) Experience with SAP Finance Modules, Business Warehouse or Business Objects Ability to handle complexity and utilize analytical skills, with attention to detail Ability to proactively & effectively analyse & resolve problems Ability to effectively prioritize and complete key tasks and deliverables whilst demonstrating full ownership & accountability If you're ready to develop your career with a market leading company, working in a dynamic and modern environment, please submit your application through the link below.
