Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading supplier of construction and mining equipment and is part of a global business. We are currently looking for an experienced Category Specialist - Parts with relevant industry knowledge and a strategic mind to contribute to the ongoing growth of the companies Hitachi branded range of construction and forestry equipment.
As the Category Specialist - Parts you will be reporting to our Group Contracts Manager and will be responsible for defining and endorsing category strategies that optimise sustainable commercial outcomes for Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia. The Categories Specialist - Parts also provides a stakeholder centric approach to customer relationship management and monitors contracts metrics. The role is a permanent role based in Sydney
Your other key drivers will be:
- Demonstrated Safety Leadership and commitment to our HCA Safety Policy & Procedures
- Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to drive innovation, continuous improvement, value and savings.
- Supporting the development of Category Strategies, ensuring local context is met while providing periodic reporting on current contract performance.
- Work collaboratively with and influencing operational colleagues to optimise and deliver sustainable Category outcomes.
- Varying contracts as required including updating or expanding scope of goods and services.
- Support tender response, negotiation & implementation of complex and high value contracts across Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia.
- Where appropriate, develop and implement tailored Customer Relationship Models for critical Customers.
- Participate and support activities such that HCA meets the Business Plan and meets Department and Global KPIs.
- Identify advanced commercial techniques and develop appropriate countermeasures.
To be successful, you will need:
- Proven procurement advisory experience coupled with exposure to category management.
- End to end procurement skills including developing tenders will be highly regarded.
- Tertiary degree in relevant field (business, legal, accounting or equivalent)
- Professional qualifications in Contracts & Procurement will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in analysing markets, suppliers, supply chains and cost models.
- Proven experience working as an analyst within a C&P function.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) with the ability to effectively liaise at a high level with customers and a diverse range of interdepartmental team members
